Emma Grace Sailer arrives

July 5th 2012 at 8:17 am we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into this world. She weighed 7bls 1 oz and measured 19 1/2 inches. She started off with a bit of a bumpy start and had to admitted into the NICU for 3 1/2 very long days. Emma came out with fluid in her lungs which is called TTN (transient tachypnea newborn). Transient means its short lived and tachypnea means rapid breathing, which is due to the fluid. After some really scary hours, I was told it was nothing really serious. It was so hard to be away from her for those days. I had this vision of her birth in my mind, where I would be nursing her right away and taking a hundred pictures of her in our room, with her sister and brother, with her daddy and with me. Instead I got some precious moments of her with tubes and wires all hooked up. It really made me appreciate a healthy baby. I can't imagine having a baby in there for something more serious and for a longer period of time. We are truly blessed to have three beautiful AND healthy children.

Daddy holding Emma for the first time. So sweet. Wish I would have gotten this pic on my camera instead of the phone.
Finally off the nasal tubes and feeding tube,
 dressed for the first time!
Our last night there she was permitted to leave the Nicu for 30 mins to meet her big sister and big brother. It was love at first sight for both of them. Ethan looked at me, as he helped push her bassinet, and said "we're ready now. Let's go home". So cute. Both Ethan and Alexa were very proud. That was the very best part of our entire stay at the hospital. I will never forget how excited the both of them were.

 Getting dressed to go home!

On July 8th at about 12 in the afternoon we were finally able to bring a beautiful bundle home. This just happened to be our third anniversary too. This was by far the best anniversary present either one of us has ever had.

Home right were she should be!

Weeks 28-35

Ummm so it's been awhile. Geez! I really wanted to keep up with an every other week post to remember this last pregnancy. Oh well. lets just go with some highlights of the past 7 weeks. I had my 30 weeks scan at 31 weeks and Emma weighed in at almost 4 pounds already. My Dr is predicting she will be around 8 pounds. We shall see how close she is! I feel like I have gotten huge over the past several weeks, so I would say Emma is growing well. The heat doesn't help. I am retaining some major water at this point. I can feel the pressure in my legs and hands. Ugh! I am still walking 4 miles 4 to 5 days a week, lifting weights and doing yoga once a week. The exercise helps a lot to keep the water down. I am getting heartburn from everything at this point. It's super annoying.  I can't wait to eat like a normal person again. I would say the past two weeks have been uncomfortable. I am mostly just getting anxious to finally meet Emma. It feels like I have been pregnant forever! I am full term in two weeks and one day and she is scheduled to be delivered in 4 weeks and two days. I. Can't. Wait! I am pretty much finished with decorating our room and the nursery part of it. I just need to do a couple finishing touches and order a rug for under our bed. My rocking chair came and it was really exciting! I absolutely love every inch of our room now. I need to take pics soon and post.

Wedding rings on/off: Both at this point. I can wear them while I am inside, but can't wear them outside. I swell up two minutes after I am outdoors.

Weight gain: I honestly stopped weighing myself because I was getting really stressed out about it. I know a lot of it is water weight, so I am just not paying attention to it anymore. I look away at the Drs. I plan on just seeing where I am at right before I have her just so I know what I need to lose.

Cravings: Watermelon, peaches, berries, and cereal. I love my cereal! So yummy!

Maternity clothes: Both normal and maternity. I can actually still fit into quite a few things with a bella band on of course. I have a couple maternity bottoms that I love, but all the tops I wear are regular.

Looking forward too: Hearing Emma's sweet cry. Isn't that the best sound in the world?!

Ethan's Third Birthday

I am seriously super behind. Ethan was three a month ago! AND I haven't even posted about easter yet. Sigh.... I am in project mode right now. With only 10 more weeks until Emma is here, I have a ton to still get done. On with Ethan. I can't believe my baby is THREE! Where did the time go? He is my super smart, particular, opinionated, loving, sweet little boy. I just adore him and everything about him. He is saying his ABCs perfectly now, he can recognize a few letters as well, we are starting to write letters, he can count to 20, he knows a ton of colors, he knows most shapes and he knows his birth date. He is a super loving little thing. He randomly comes up to me during the day and says "mommy I love you, hug me" So sweet!! I treasure everytime he does it because there will be a time when he doesn't :(

This was on his actual birthday. I made some homemade cupcakes, we went to bouncing bears and we took him to Red Lobster to eat, per his request.

His birthday present was a big one this year. Only because we had been talking about getting a swing set for awhile now. He LOVES it. He calls it his "park". Every time he plays with the steering wheel he sings "ships on the sea, ships on the sea" I have no idea where he got that from.

His birthday party, a week later, was perfect. A bunch of his friends were there. I worked really hard all week preparing.
